If your Motorola Moto G phone has slowed down considerably or isn't working properly, it may be necessary to proceed to a reset.
Before you try the factory reset or hard reset on your device,First make sure that you have backup your important files.
Restoring the default settings or factory reset your device will delete all your existing files and will go back to its initial state.
Factory Reset:
1.On your Home screen, select Menu.
2.Go to Settings, and select Privacy.
3.Tap on Factory data reset.
4.Then tap Reset phone.
5.Tap Erase everything to confirm the reset.
NB:
All downloaded apps and user data on your phone will be deleted. Data on the cloud will not be deleted.
Hard Reset:
These steps is also useful when your Motorola Moto G is unresponsive or frozen and there's no way to access any settings. If it is frozen remove the battery and reinsert it after a few minutes.
1.Press and hold the Power button and the Volume Keys Up and Down all at the same time.
2.When your phone will show the boot mode menu, press the Volume Down to highlight Recovery and volume up to select it.
3.When in recovery mode, you will see an android with a red triangle.
Press Volume up and Volume down at the same time. This will bring up a blue menu at the top of the screen.
4. Press Volume down to select "wipe data/factory reset" and press the Power key to select it.
Now press Volume down to highlight Yes and press power to select it.
5.Last, when the device finishes it will have "reboot system now" selected. Just press power to select that option.
