Windows SmartScreen in Windows 8 can help keep your PC safe by warning you before running any unrecognized apps downloaded from the Internet.
The following are steps on how to Turn Windows SmartScreen ON and OFF in Windows 8
1. First Open Control Panel and then go to the Action Center.
2. Click on change Windows Smartscreen settings, which is located in the left pane under Action Center.
3. If prompted by UAC, then click on Yes.
4. Select what do you want to do with unrecognized Apps. If you want to Turn OFF Windows SmartScreen then Select Don’t do anything, otherwise select from remaining two Options.
Important Its better to Get administrator approval before running an unrecognized app from the internet is Default Option and Highly Recommended.
