RAM (Random access memory) is the short term memory which hold data and program instruction that a computer is current using,it has taken a form of integrated circuit that allows the stored data to be accessed randomly, like any other memory chip RAM is made up millions of transistor and capacitor,a transistor and capacitor are arranged to create a memory cell which represent a single bit of data,The capacitor holds the bit information as 0 and 1 and the transistor act as a switch to allow the control circuit on the memory chip. TYPES OF RAM There are three main form of RAM which are 1.Static RAM (SRAM) This form of RAM is more expensive to produce but generally require less power than DRAM but in modern computer is used as a cache memory for the CPU 2.Dynamic RAM (DRAM) Is used to store a bit of data using a transistor and capacitor pair which together comprise a memory cell, the capacitor contain high or low charge (1 or 0) and the transistor act as a switch that let the control circuitry on the chip read the capacitors state of charge or change it 3.Phase change memory (PRAM)
